Teamwork

Help a group work well together.

If a team has a goal, you can contribute by making it clear, sharing tasks and noticing who has not been heard.

A ten-minute team check-in

  1. State the goal and when it needs to be done.
  2. Ask everyone for one idea or concern. Let people pass if they prefer.
  3. List the tasks and ask who has time to do them.
  4. Agree when to check progress and whom to tell if someone needs help.

If someone is left out

Ask for their view without putting them on the spot. Offer a useful role that fits their interests. If the group is treating someone unfairly, involve a teacher, coach or organiser rather than trying to manage a serious issue alone.

If the project stalls

Ask “What is the next small task we can finish today?” and write down the answer. If the deadline is unrealistic, tell the adult organiser early and propose a smaller version.
