"We feel very honoured to receive the Bronze SWECO Award.
We thank Dr Diann Rodgers-Healey, the Judges and Minter Ellison for making this event possible.
The SWECO Awards encourage innovation, creativity and leadership in developing programs which benefit women in the community and inspire others to do the same.
ACLW’s vision to transform, empower and recognise are crucial to promote women’s wellbeing through state, national and global initiatives.
We are a small community legal centre with a vision to achieve women’s empowerment through access to justice.
We identified that young women are a particular group that can be very vulnerable and may find it difficult to access legal information freely.
Our project, Girls Gotta Know, seeks to address this by providing easily accessible legal information for young women through a mobile website.
The project will now be rolled out nationally so women across Australia will benefit from this resource.
Equipping women with knowledge early is the key to building women’s leadership into the future.
We are very grateful and feel empowered to be recognised by these awards for our efforts in achieving our vision."
