Rita Wilson

Rita Wilson began her career in private legal practise for 10 years as a commercial lawyer.   After having her family she moved into ‘for purpose work’ first,  in the Aboriginal sector at the New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council with the land dealings team assisting to develop sustainable outcomes for Aboriginal people.

From there she wanted to give back to community in some way and being  Indian Gujarati from the Maher community, her passion has always been to work in the multi-cultural sector.  Therefore, for the last 4 years, she has  worked with Settlement Services International Limited as the Legal and Compliance Manager, helping to capacity build the NGO through good governance and compliance.

As a community leader in her community, advocating for women and children is key aim of her.  She does this  by mentoring women in her community to capacity build themselves on a personal level through education and employment in order to help them build sustained and fulfilled lives for themselves.
